FOLD OVER BOX - Video Tutorial and Written Instructions

Hello!

Today I am sharing with you how to make a "Fold Over Box",  a tutorial by Liz Walker Combine gift and card in one!
First take a look at my creations, I love this type of box and it is a big seller!

How to make this Box!

If you prefer to watch a video follow this LINK

OR

Follow these written instructions (Picture Tutorial)

You will need :

2 pieces of 6" x 9" card stock ( I used white)
4 pieces of 6" x 6" (Choose a pattern)
2 pieces of 6" x 3" ( Choose a pattern)
2 pieces of 12" ribbon
1 piece of 10" x 10" cardstock (this will make the box)
1 piece of 4" x 4 " pattern paper
8 pieces of 3" x 4 " pattern paper (along sides of box, inside and out)

Outer Part

1. Take the 2 pieces of 6 " x 9 " card and score @  3 " along the long side once for each piece.
2. Fold and adhere both 3" sides together (refer to picture below)

3. Glue ribbon onto each end as shown in picture below.

4. Adhere top and bottom pattern paper 6" x 6" ,  the top will be decorated so make sure you put the piece you want decorated in the right spot.  You want to make sure the card front is on the top and bottom so they match.

5. Adhere rest of pieces.

Now for the box -" Inner Part"

6. Cut a piece of paper 10" by 10" plain cardstock

7. Score @ 3 " on every side of the paper

8. Cut into the corners to make tabs so that when you fold it together you can adhere it to form a box.

9.  Fold along score lines and adhere tabs to form the box. Refer to pictures below

10. Decorate box: Put 4" x 4 " pattern paper on the bottom of the box.

11. Put 3" by 4"  pieces of paper inside the box along the sides and also outside if you choose.

12. Adhere box to the outer part  by centering it and pushing down, I used tacky glue so it would allow me to move it once it was placed to center it.

13. Tie the ribbon and decorate the top of the box.
Voila!

Have a great day!

There was a time it didn't matter how long it took to do a project but my life has become  much busier (and fun!) so I search for projects that are time savers. If you sell your product time becomes a big factor which is why you will love this project as much as I do knowing it only takes 15 min's !!!!

HERE is the video tutorial from Maymay Made It

"Dream Fresh Beginnings Canvas" Path of Positivity Challenge

Happy Hump Day and thanks for visiting today!

I was so inspired by the theme behind Path of Postivity Challenge yesterday I thought I would do  a canvas, something totally different than I usually do.
People sometimes write out quotes that inspire them and pin them to the fridge or wall and I have even seen a post it on a steering wheel once,  but the main goal is so we don't forget what resonated with us from those words and in those words come a new beginning, soul development if you will.
I love the quote on my canvas from T.S. Eliot because I had a friend ask me a question when I was disappointed with a friend of mine, he said " If each time when you meet your friend, you had a  clear mind, would there be any judgments of any sort, rather she is beautiful and brave or careless and a thief , what do you think will happen?
I was confused and said NOTHING! He said no you would be looking with fresh eyes and she would just be. Pass no judgment good or bad, just remember every moment is a fresh beginning, nothing is ever permanent. If you are happy , remember that is not permanent either as well as sad, confused, frustrated etc..it all comes to an end unless you hold on to it with judgement that effects you, emotion is created through thought , it attaches itself.
Just be I asked? But I am still missing a ring!
We are only human so our pattern of thinking continues.
He said  Yes that is unfortunate but it IS what it IS, it IS missing... what benefit is it to you if you worry , cast judgments and make your mind miserable and possibly loose a really good friend?

Of course I am still balking at the idea and thought a really good friend wouldn't take it .

So I entertained these wise words for my minds sake as it was making me sick and I had a cloud over me so  the next time I saw her I pretended it was the first time we had met, fresh eyes, and continued this for a couple of weeks, it wasn't too hard but I was suprised how trained my mind was.
During one of our fun outing together my friend mentioned her daughter borrowed my ring and meant to tell me about it and she feels miserable because it took so long for her to mention it.

By this time I had managed thorough practice , gently nudging my mind in another direction when I did think of the ring and bam! I got my ring back but more importantly I didn't carry the ill thoughts I had in the beginning throughout those couple of weeks and spared my mind and soul of the heaviness it had by looking at every moment as a fresh beginning! Even if I didn't get the ring back my mind was still being trained in a much healthier way and I was on my way living without a ring that I could have allowed to taint me. The End

Here is my project!  I hope you all can get something out of my story as it applies to every aspect of our lives and truly changes your whole outlook on life, you start living!

Michael's Art plus Singing Video

Good Day Crafty Peeps!

Today I am dropping in to show you Michael's drawing, a lot of you know Michael but for those of you who don't he is my son , age 13 and he has been drawing since he was able to hold a pencil. Michael was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 3 and has had a major surgery at birth and several since for different reasons. Michael LOVES to draw and he wants you all to see his latest!

It was taken at night so it is a little hard to see

Also today I am sharing a link to my video,  I always knew how to sing but it started to happen more and more since last summer, I did one benefit concert and was ok except that my whole body shook, lol  I get stage fright really bad so I decided to sing a song on video. I posted this video to facebook and so far it has 3.2 K views which blows my mind. I only heard of auto scroll yesterday so you will see me scrolling, lol

Wild orchid Flowers are so beautiful!

Good Day To ALL!!!
Today I want to show you a card I made that can be for a lot of occasions or encouragement cards after all there are hearts involved. I had fun with colors doing this card using bright colored flowers and bright papers.

Here is my card

I used Simon Says Ink on the blue leaves and then used gel gloss to make them shine. I took my craft knife and roughed up the edges of the papers and inked the edges with black distress ink. I also rubbed distress ink (Peacock feathers) on my dotted embossing folder which gave a shabby chic look to the paper under the flowers and leaves. I colored that adorable lovable elephant with prima pencils which I got HERE
When I need this card some day or sell it I will then add the sentiment that applies to the occasion.

Have a great day and thanks for visiting!!!

Baby it's Cold Outside

Hello!

Today I am dropping in to show you a card I did for challenge  # 50 "Baby it's Cold Outside" over at Scribbles Design Challenge, if you would like to participate go HERE

What an appropriate title considering we just got 60 cm of snow, Brrrrrr and it is seriously cold outside.

Here is my card:

I used stitched edges for snow that I bought from "Wish" $4.00 total for 4, I added 3D adhesive to the back to add dimension. I also cut around the kids feet so it fit over the stitched snow and made it look more realistic, the boy's foot is actually stepping of the snow, it is hard to see but in real life it looks really great.
The image is from coloring pages and I colored them using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Pens.

Have a fantastic day and make your way over and link up!!!
