Midweek Throwdown: Kids Cards

Happy Friday!!!!!

Today I have joined another cause , it is for our heros to send home to their children and it is called Kids Cards!!
Over at Operations Write Home they are challenging us to make these cards and it can be their own children or young people who write to them. ( Note * You can send any type of card to the soldiers, you don't have to be part of a challenge)
I am so happy I came upon this site, they are doing such an amazing service sending out thousands of cards to soldiers , bless their hearts for all their hard work.

If you would like to make a card go here!!!!!http://operationwritehome.org/midweek-throwdown-kids-cards/

Here is the card and envelope I made , it is so nice to be a small part of something sooooooooo big.

I rarely ever use my own digitals but this one was perfect! ( I think it is because I am not good with alcohol pens yet, hehe)... On the Pennant it says UR in my heart, I used Nikki Sivils paper which I loveeeeeeeeee!  It is hard to see but there is a heart and I used black twine to add a double bow to it.

This is the inside of the card

Here is an origami Envelope I made , it was also made with Nikki Sivil's paper!

This picture is to show the inside of the envelope, Nikki Sivil's papers are all 2 sided which makes this envelope so perfect, a little girl would love to receive this, I know I would have!

All together it says:

" Sending Smiles Across The Miles , Happy Birthday and U R in my heart.

The soldiers are in our hearts.

I have entered this card into Little Scrap Piece: Fun Friday, the theme is Birthday!!!
Better late than never, I think a new challenge will be posted today, go here to check it out.

Have a great day and I hope you can participate!!!!

I Feel The Love Project/ Dog with BD Hat Digital

Hello everyone!
Thank you for all your prayers,  the pain in my face is not gone but it is much less pain at times, that I am really grateful for, without the breaks I couldn't do what I am doing now!

Today I want to share two things with you with the first being an amazing inspiring story...you will be sad and you will be amazed and inspired, it touched me in a very special way.

At the end of this post there is a link that will take you to "I Feel the Love Project" page where you can participate if you would like!

This is Oliva's story:   ( I copied and pasted everything so I wouldn't mess it up)

Welcome to Funky Cards

Olivia, 9, and her mom EriKa

Olivia's story, as told by family friend, Karen.

Olivia is a 9-year-old with a sparkling heart, in need of extra love and encouragement. My lifelong friend, her mother, lost her battle to cancer in 2011. Facing this new reality has been extremely hard for Olivia. As valiantly as our beloved Erika fought cancer, Olivia fights to put an end to this terrible disease.

Soon after her passing, at only 8 years old Olivia founded Kids Involved in Cancer Research (KICR) with a fierce drive to raise awareness and money for colon and lung cancer research. The annual KICR walkathon took place this past weekend and what better way to show Olivia we support her than to send her a box full of love from IFTL Project. She is so brave, possessing the same inspiring strength I saw in Erika, and I would give anything to take away her pain. This ministry gives us the privilege of delivering sunshine to Olivia's heart. Our happy cards will bring a smile to her beautiful face as she fights her own battle of dealing with the loss of her mom. It will mean so much to her to see that there are people thinking of her, who took the time to make a fun little card especially for her. Every card will be a blessing, engulfing her with healing love and light.
All you need to do is:

Submit your card/s by August 31 to:

Here is the card I made for Oliva... (Sorry it is not a great picture)...On the front of the card it says "Everyday is another chance to make dreams come true". On the inside I have written a personalized inspirational message.

Also I want to share another digital that only took me a half an hour to make using paint brush free hand in Illustrator!! I used the tools to straighten a few lines, this digital was inspired by a friend of mine, Coralee who suggested my next digital be a dog, so I thought why not a dog with a birthday hat anticpating on getting the cake!

This digital will be added to my digital store and I am now setting it up so you won't have to leave my site to buy it...it can be bought here and you will be redirected back to my blog for only .99 cents!!!!

If you weren't at my blog yesterday I have a free digital that will be free for a week... A girl sitting on a Tree trunk...get her while you can. Just go to the post before this one.

Have a great day!
