Happy Valentine's Day!/Video update on Michael

Hello everyone!  You get two of us today for the low price of reading one post!  I'm going to start us off and then Naomi is going to close out the post.  So let's get begin.

Remember when I said you'll never know when a freebie will appear.  Well, today is one of those days.  As a small Valentine's gift to you, Naomi would like to present...

Click HERE to get "Baby Angel-luv" now available in the freebie section of the store.

Oh goodness.  Baby Angel-luv has so much love to share that it is just oozing out of every pore.   As you can see, Baby Angel-luv is a coloured image.  Naomi has recently started getting into creating some coloured images to provide options for those who enjoy her images but are uncomfortable with colouring them on their own.

One of our DT even had the opportunity to create a card to show off this sweet image...
I'm pretty impressed given that I only sent the image out to the team yesterday.  I never expected anyone to pull off creating a card, but Monica managed to.  What a wonderful job she did too.  I've always liked the striking combination of red and white and today is no exception.  Some cool embossing, a pretty ribbon and a beautiful sentiment mean someone special is about to get a great card.  You can check out all the details of Monica's card by visiting her blog, TaylorMade 4U.

Guess who else had some extra time to play...
It is wonderful to see one of Naomi's cards again, isn't it?  She did a fabulous job but we expect no less from the lady who makes this blog possible.  All of Naomi's work is incredible and I don't think I am biased.  Okay, maybe I'm a bit biased but that doesn't change how great a card maker she really is.

Well that is it for my bit.  Keep reading for an update from Naomi.

Have a simply wonderful day everyone.  I hope that you all have the opportunity to spend some time with the people most important to you, today and everyday for that matter.  I'll see you again tomorrow with the sneak peek for next week's new release.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Now an update from Naomi...

Hello my peeps and a Happy Valentine's Day to all of you.  I hope your day is wrapped with warmth and you give as much love as you receive on this special day.

I am happy to announce that I am not just dropping in but am back in action.  I can't wait to see what you all have been up to!! A big thanks and lots of love to Lisa who has held up the fort while I was away, she is quite entertaining isn't she!

Cost effective CupCake Stand

I got this 3 tier cardboard deco stand at the Dollar Store last week for all but $2.00 , all you have to do is assemble it although I did use tape to reinforce it..it turned out great don't you think? When the cupcakes disappear in all but 10 min's I plan to keep it so I can replicate it with my own design for any occasion.

Mmmmmmmmmmm, let me tell you they are the best cupcakes I have ever made,  melt in your mouth...gotta go and have another, not counting calories today, hehe!

 Update on Michael

Michael saw the Doctor for his check up last week and although his progress in walking is slow it is because he has what is called a Tethered Cord, a problem at the base of his back, this will be corrected with surgery in the future. Michael no longer uses the wheelchair!!!

I thought you could see Michael's progress instead of just hearing about it so enjoy the video below which was intended originally only for mom but when I uploaded it to facebook it went out to everyone, lol, I am happy it did for Michael loved all the encouraging words. Enjoy!

Summer Bug Brigade Freebie--The New and Improved Bumble Bug

Hello!  I hope that you all have BEEn well since we last met up.  Once again, we are reintroducing a previously released digi.  However, don't get your BEE in a bonnet if you missed it the first time around BEEcause now you have the chance to grab it again during the course of the next two weeks.  Let's re-meet...

  Bumble Bug

Bumble Bug, another beloved character of Naomi's, was introduced back in the summer of 2012.  She has had a makeover and is ready for her bug debut today.

Click HERE to get "Bumble Bug".  Available from Tuesday, July 30th, until Tuesday, August 13th, 2013.  After that it will be replaced with another freebie.

First up, Suze from Craftysuze has this project she is sharing with all of you...

This card is just as sweet as can BEE.  Suze picked up some new DP and it was just so perfect for this image she just found herself creating; and, has done a rather splendid job!  I love the positive sentiment that she has chosen to put on her card.  You just cant BEE-t that kind of optimism!

Today I am also going to show you another previously made card created by the lovely Christina from Flowers, Ribbons and Pearls.  At the beginning of July, I showed you one of Christina's cards that she had made using Angel Bug and now it is time to show you one she made using Bumble Bug.

Another stunning card by Christina.  From the cool card shape to the lovely flowers and embellishments this card is just BEE-utiful.  Then of course there is her in incredible colouring and shading of Bumble Bug herself.  Another bug out gorgeous card!  If you'd like to check out the post where this card originally came from you can click HERE

Thanks ladies for creating such wonderful cards to show all our readers great options for using Bumble Bug.

Sneak peek guesses...
We had some rather interesting guesses this week but nobody got them correct.  I even gave some bee hints in the sneak peek but no-one caught on.  However, I'm in a generous mood this week as I made my very first card sale.  I have a treasure hunt going on over at my own personal blog to celebrate and am giving away 10 different papers:  a paper a day until they've all been released.  Every time you get one part of the hunt correct, you get a paper.  If you are interested in checking it out, please click HERE.  Anyways, the generosity is being carried over to this blog because anyone who made ANY sort of guess as to what this week's freebie was, is eligible to pick up a really neat 'bee paper'.  So that means...
Stephanie
scrapclose2theheart
Julie Tucker-Wolek
Monkey Toes Too
Fit Kitty
You are all eligible to receive the digital paper I made especially for this sneak peek reveal.  Just email me by clicking HERE, with the subject BUMBLE BUG.

ALSO, DON'T FORGET...
there is still time to sign up for your chance to win Naomi's latest new release:  Ladybug Layover!  Click HERE to find out how.

 AND...

Remember, our DT call is on right now and we'd love to see you enter!  You can find out all the details by going HERE!  I'm getting a little nervous.  We've only had one person enter and unfortunately, they won't be eligible because they just linked up their blog and didn't do any of the things I asked for.  Remember, you only need to create one card with a CBD image; your other two cards should be examples of your best work.  I'm REALLY hoping that we'll get some sort of response very SOON!

Now BEEfore I go how about one last bug joke?

What kind of bug goes great with sushi?

Wasabee!

(source:  http://101bugjokes.tumblr.com/)

Well that is it for the Summer Bug Brigade.  Don't forget to pick up Bumble Bug BEEfore she goes back into the store in two weeks.  I hope you will all BEE of good cheer until we meet again.

Summer Bug Brigade Freebie-- The New and Improved Beach Bug

Cow-a-BUG-a Dude!

Welcome to the latest Bug Brigade reveal!  For those of you who have been with me since the beginning of July, you know that all the freebie and new releases revolve around the theme of bugs.   But don't worry, you'll only ever see cute ones on this blog--none of those nasty creepy crawlers with way too many legs to be natural.  This is a cute bug zone only!  Today's offering definitely falls into that category.  Naomi has gone and revamped one of her original bugs for this week's freebie.

Today we have for you, the very special...

Beach Bug

It is time for Beach Bug to come out of the store and splash around.  She has been touched up and saved at a new resolution making her bigger and better.  So, if you already have her, you'll want to download her again to receive this improved version!

Click HERE to get "Beach Bug".  Available from Tuesday, July 16th, until Tuesday, July 30th, 2013.
After that it will be replaced with another freebie.

Your eyes will BUG out over the fabulous creations that were made to showcase this cutie pie...

Once again,  Jennifer from Krafty Keepsakes was able to make a card, this time to show off Beach Bug...

What a great card for a summer birthday!  I really love all the texture that Jennifer has going on in this card.  The raised lettering is really cool too.

Suze from Craftysuze created this great card...

Another wonderful birthday card with great designer papers and an awesome starfish accent.

Our very own Queen of the hive, NAOMI had a little extra time and created this adorable beach scene.

I can't believe she found such a cool beach scene DP to use as the background in behind her image.  Add some gltter and this card surely shines in more than one way!  Here is a close up of Naomi's rendition of this sweet bug...

Special thanks to Jennifer, Suze and Naomi herself, for their awesome contribution this week.  If any of you would like to help us showcase an upcoming freebie or new release as a GDT until the DT is up and running,  please EMAIL ME.

Sneak peek guesses...
There were a couple guesses this week but unfortunately nothing remotely close!  Although I should send Ike something for having the most creative guess of it being a "star struck/spotlighted COW all done up ready for the Stampede".  Interesting thought, especially considering Ike knew it was going to be a bug.

DON'T FORGET...
there is still time to sign up for your chance to win Naomi's latest new release:  CowBEE Greetings!  Click HERE to find out how.

BEEfore I go, let's see who will be playing over at the Bugland Review this weekend.  Our very own Beach Bug spent hours in line for her tickets:

BUGLAND’S MUSICAL GROUPS AND STARS

Dur-ant Dur-ant
Michael Jackstung
Lionel R-itchy
The Bee-tles
Jose Flea-ciano
Pat Bugatar
Gnat King Cole
Bruce Stingsteen

Well that is it for today. Thanks for stopping by everyone!  Look out for our DT call coming later this week!

The Summer Bug Brigade Begins

Hello all my lovely new friends.  Today marks the beginning of a new month of freebies and new releases that we are affectionately calling the 'Summer Bug Brigade'.  Naomi has created a couple new bugs and revamped some old ones; so, prepare yourself to bug out over these cute little critters.

First up this month we have....
Angel Bug

With all the hustle and bustle going on between my trying to launch my DT over on the Path of Positivity and Naomi preparing for her very important weekend with the trade show, Michael's birthday AND their Canada Day celebration, we sort of didn't get the freebie into the store in time.  So for now, I will offer it here for you.  Just click it, to bring it up in its own window and then right click and save it in its full resolution size.  As soon as we get it into the store though, I'll be removing it from this post and providing the link for you to go and grab it there.

This image has been removed as it is now
in the store in the freebie section.
It will stay as a freebie until Tuesday, July 16th, 2013 when it will be replaced with the newest freebie.  Click HERE to grab it as a freebie until that time.

Angel Bug made her debut in July of 2012 and has become a popular digi.  If you have previously downloaded her as a freebie, you are going to want to replace her because she has been enlarged and touched up and saved in a better resolution.

Now, while I was skimming through some of Naomi's older posts, I came across a post where Naomi had a contest for naming this particular bug.  Problem is, I couldn't seem to find the post where the winner was chosen.  So, once I finally find out who named this sweetie, and if that person is still following or an active reader, I have a special treat planned for them.  Of course, first I have to find out who it was.

In fact, since we are being nostalgic by revisiting the Bugs, I thought that today I would show you some of the cards that have been created over the last year using this image.

Let's start off with one made by Christina from Flowers, Ribbons and Pearls.  Christina is one of Naomi's very dear friends and was one of the first people to start creating cards using Naomi's digitals.
Angel Bug is so beautifully framed among lovely papers and embellishments.  I just adore those cute little flowers and those really cool swirl diecuts.  If you'd like to check out the post where this card originally came from you can click HERE

Then of course there is the one made by our very own Naomi Edwards back in August of 2012.

Pretty in pink, Angel Bug makes her card debut on Naomi's blog.  I love the cool background paper and those oh so pretty flowers that Naomi recoloured herself to tone down the original hot pink that they were.  Of course Angel Bug is all decked out in pink and white to match.  If you'd like to check out the post where this card originally came from you can click HERE

Last, but certainly not least there is the card that Suze from Craftysuze created to send to Naomi during the card drive I had for her back in May.

Another oh so sweet rendition of Angel Bug.  I really love the bright blue Suze used in her flowers and the complimentary papers, flower and lace.  If you'd like to check out the post where this card originally came from you can click HERE

Okay, now before I go, how about a bug joke to close out...

Q: What kind of bugs live in clocks?
A: Ticks!
(source: http://www.jokes4us.com/animaljokes/bugjokes.html)

It was nice being able to share these lovely creations with all of you.  Sometimes it is nice to just sit and reflect on projects from the past and such wonderful projects they all were.

Now while, Ike came close with her guess that it was a bug, she was a little off in that there are no Christmas trees in site.  Valiant attempt my friend, valiant attempt!

Well that is it for today. Thanks for stopping by everyone!  I look forward to visiting with all of you again on Saturday when I'll be back with a sneak peek of the new release coming out on Thursday, July 11th as the Bug Brigade continues.  Don't forget there is still time to sign up to have a one in five chance of walking away with Naomi's last new release, "Bringing Balloons".  It is hard to believe that not one person has added their name to the linky list.  After all, I know there are a lot of you out there who already have a link to Naomi's blog in your blogroll and that was the only criteria for entering.  There is still a little over a week left and I hope that at least one person signs up.  Keep in mind that if only one person adds their name and has a link, they will most definitely walk away with the image.  For more details go HERE.

 Until we meet again,

Freebie - "Love Comes First"

Hey all!  It is Tuesday and that is Bit By the Bug day around here.  This week we have a brand new freebie available for you.  Naomi was feeling well enough to create a brand new image and today I get the honour of presenting it to all her wonderful readers.

Today I offer you, "Love Comes First".

Click HERE to get "Love Comes First".  Available from May 28th until June 3rd.  After that it will be replaced with the newest freebie.

This a great new image that will help all of you gear up for Father's Day which is fast approaching.  I'm sure many sons all around the world wished their hard working fathers had more time to spend with them, just as I am sure that most fathers wish they could toss around a ball with their son or go their games instead of staying late at work and taking care of business.  That is why this image is so endearing.

I hope you like it as much as I do.  You may have noticed that things are a little different this week for obtaining the freebie.  Since Naomi is feeling better she was able to link it up to the store.  Don't worry, it is still free and will remain so for the next week.  Just click where it says and it should take you to the correct download page in the store.

Naomi was feeling so well that she even had the opportunity to create this card to showcase her new image...

Here is a closer look at that sweet digi...

Didn't she do a fabulous job.  I just love the antiqued look around the image and all those really cool buttons with a bat and a couple baseballs thrown in for good measure.  The backdrop the image is sitting on itself is just so neat too.  The sentiment is just 'perfect' as well.  I've missed seeing my wonderful friend's creations and this one certainly does not disappoint.

I created a layout using Naomi's digi.  Now, granted this isn't my best work but what do I expect for trying to put it together at 3:00 in the morning.

Elements used to create this layout are from the 'Baseball Dreams' free kit downloaded from {Computer} Scrapbook.com.

Thank you so much to Naomi who took the time to not only create a brand spankin' new image for all of us but to also create a card too.

Well that is it for today.  In June there will be some new changes taking place on Creative Bug on the Loose so I hope you will all join Naomi and I on the weekend to learn what they are.

Thanks for stopping by everyone!

Freebie - "Bobby's Bo-Bo"

Hello everyone.  It is Lisa here to provide you with this week's freebie.   Now there were only two guesses this week about what the sneak peek may reveal and I don't have a clue how she did it but Ike managed to figure out just what the image was. So, Ike please EMAIL ME with the subject "BOBBY'S BO-BO" and I'll send off a digital paper I've created.

And without further ado here he is...

Now Bobby has been in the store for quite awhile lurking around under the name 'Hurt Toddler'.  He was tired of not receiving any attention for his hurt knee and caterwauled until I brought him out to get some loving attention from all of you wonderful ladies.  You know how terrible toddlers can be.  Anyways, now is your chance to give this little guy some love.

To get this week's freebie, just left click on the image to bring it up in its full size, then right click and choose 'save as'.

Now I was fortunate that two of Naomi's entourage had some extra time in their schedules to help out and make a card showcasing this annoying little monster sweet little boy (seriously you should have heard the racket he made.)

So this week we have Jennifer S. from Krafty Keepsakes showing us one way of using this image in a card...

Didn't she do a wonderful job?  I just love his little alphabet towel and the really interesting shapes she has chosen to use as a backdrop behind Bobby.  If you would like to see the details on this card you can head on over to Jennifer's blog.

Suze from Craftysuze also decided to help us out this week by sending in this card...

Another sweet version showcasing Bobby's Bo-Bo.  I really love that Paisley paper.  I have some myself that I'm itching to use.  The sentiment is a perfect accompaniment.  If you would like to see the details on this card you can head on over to Suze's blog.

Now on the slight chance that some of you have already received this image as a freebie in the past, I wouldn't want you to walk away empty handed, so, if you would like to head over to my blog HERE, you can pick up a free sentiment that matches the tone of this image.

Well folks, that wraps it up for another Tuesday.  Thanks for stopping by everyone and a very special thank you to Jennifer and Suze who pitched in to help me out by creating wonderful cards to showcase Naomi's fabulous freebie.  Now, same as last time, if one or two of you have the time and would like the opportunity to work with one of Naomi's digis and have your project displayed here on Naomi's blog, please contact me and I'll get next week's freebie off to you as soon as I can.  See you on Saturday with next week's sneak peek.

Freebie - "Meet the Flockers"

Hello everyone.  It is Lisa here to provide you with this week's freebie.  If you missed the post I created to explain my presence (you can find it HERE), but in short, I'm just here to help Naomi out a bit until she gets back on her feet by providing all her loyal readers with her weekly freebies.

This week we have "Meet the Flockers".  When Naomi sent me the image for this week's freebie, she left it up to me to name it.  I thought and thought and the word flock just kept popping up and I knew I wanted to use it somehow but make it funny.  Then it just came to me.  "Meet the Flockers".  Perfect!  Now for those of you who don't get the pun, I created a variation based on the name of a 2004 American comedy film called "Meet the Fockers".  Anyways, 'nuff said.  It is time to actually meet the Flocker family.

To get this week's freebie, just left click on the image to bring it up in its full size, then right click and choose 'save as'.  Update:  This image is no longer available for free.  You can now find Mortimer in the store.

Here is the card I created to show off this wonderful new image...

If you would like to see the inside and/or the details for this card you can head on over to my blog and check out my post HERE.

Here is the fantastic card that Vicky from Crafting Vicky took the time to create...

Vicky took the approach of making a bon voyage card and did a fantastic job doing it.  If you would like to see the details on this card you can head on over to Vicky's blog.

Now this week I also got Ike from Ike's World to do some magic and she came up these incredible creations...
Welcome to Flocker Island, here is a closer peek at those colourful birds...

Ike also managed to pull off a card too.  She went with the same kind of idea that Vicky did and created a bon voyage card.

Ike did an amazing job, don't ya think?  If you would like to see the details on this card you can head on over to Ike's blog.

If you are here Naomi, it's time to STOP reading!

Okay, now that we've sent her away, I just wanted to let you know that there is still time to participate in the card drive for Naomi.  You can find all the details you need in the last post.  Clicking  HERE will take you to it.

Thanks for stopping by everyone and a very special thank you to Vicky and Ike who helped me out by creating some fantastic projects to showcase Naomi's fabulous image.  I'll hopefully be back Saturday to provide you all with a sneak peek of next week's freebie and an update on Naomi's condition if there is any change, so I hope to see you all then!
