Update on the Edwards Household...

As promised, I am back with an update on our beloved Naomi, whom we all miss so much.

This week was once again busy with travelling back to Halifax for more medical appointments.  However, Naomi also told me that the trip itself was fantastic and a much needed break filled with lots of laughter and a bit of shopping as well.  Shopping always seems to lift the spirits of so many people doesn't it?

Anways, Michael has had both casts removed and they are back to lifting him in and out of the wheel chair as he is unable to put any weight on his feet yet.  Some of the medical tests turned out very well indeed, however, one of the tests disclosed an issue which will require Michael to have an additional, rather serious surgery, completely unrelated to the one he just had.  It will need to take place sometime within the next nine months.  Apparently, it is something that needs to be taken care of sooner rather than later.  This was all a bit of a shock to Naomi.

So, it is time to get those prayers going once again.  Naomi and her family and friends, along with the little town of Souris are all praying for a positive outcome and Naomi is asking and hoping that you will add your thoughts and prayers to the mix as well.  Studies have proven that the power of prayer and focussed positive thinking really does work; so if any you out there can say a few on behalf of Michael and Naomi, it will certainly be appreciated.

Naomi is certain that the positive thoughts and prayers that have been said up to this point have already been working because she has such a sense of peace and hopefullness, despite everything going on around her.

Whether it is just a positive thought or two, or a heart felt prayer, the Edwards house will be very grateful for your kind words to help them get through this latest predicament.

Thank you.

Saturday Sneak Peek

We've got a new release coming out on Thursday and it is time to take a look at a small snippet of it...

Apparently I had my meannie pants on when creating the sneak peeks for this month.  There are a few more clues in this one but I don't think anyone is going to come up with what the overall design really is.  If you'd care to hazard a guess, offer it up by Wednesday at midnight EST in a comment on this post to be eligible to receive something extra

I've got an update on the Edwards household for you coming up later this weekend so stay tuned.

Stay safe, be happy and have a crafty good weekend everyone!

Bit By the Bug Tuesday -- "Scarecrow"

Hello, Hello, Hello!  It is time to be bit by the bug--the freebie bug that is.  With the fall season in full swing it is the perfect time to share Naomi's adorable...

Scarecrow

Click HERE to get "Scarecrow".  Available from November 5th until November 19th. After that it will be replaced with another freebie.

Naomi is unavailable to put the freebie in the store this week so for now you can grab it right here...

 EDIT:

This image has been removed as the newest freebie is now available.  If you would like to purchase this image you can find in HERE in the store.

Scarecrow is one of Naomi's existing images but we thought that today would be a great opportunity for him to come out and get some clear, crisp, fresh fall air.  Many of you weren't following the first time he was offered as a freebie, so now is your chance to grab him.

Let us check and see what two of our DT came up with to showcase Naomi's wonderful Scarecrow...
Vicky did a fabulous job showcasing Naomi's scarecrow.  Her paper and colour choices are just stunning.  I love the richness contained within her project.  You can check out the details of this project over on Vicky's blog Crafting Vicky.

Another great project from Jen with just the right touch of humour!  I love the addition of the gold sparkles on the corn.  You can check out the details of this creation over on Jen's blog Krafty Keepsakes

Sneak peek guesses...
Well it looks like I managed to trip you all up well and good for this one.  While the majority of the guesses were that it was a bib of sorts, many of you thought it was the bib of an apron although one person did guess that it was the bib of some trousers.  However, no one was able to take that further to guess that it might have been a scarecrow.  Looks like I'll be enjoying a bit of a break this week.  You guys are ususally so good, it is rare that I get one at all so I'll enjoy it while it lasts!

Now while we don't have any particular theme taking place over this next three weeks, that doesn't mean that you have to miss my scintillating humour ;o).  Time for joke...

Q: Why did a scarecrow win a Nobel prize?
A:    He was outstanding in his field.

Enjoy the rest of your week everyone.  I'll be back on Saturday with the next sneak peek.

Until then, stay well and stay crafty!

Trick or Treat Treasure Hunt Winner Announcement

Hellooooooo!  I hope that those of you who celebrate Hallowe'en had a wonderful day on Thursday.  Unfortunately, every year we get fewer and fewer children coming to the door.  It didn't help that by 7:00 p.m. it was raining.  We had a whole four kids show up; down from the twelve we had last year.  I remember a time when there was over a hundred and thirty kids coming to the door.  Those were the days...

Anyways, while there wasn't much going on Hallowe'en wise in my physical neighbourhood, there was a lot going on in the virtual neighbourhood.  We started bright and early over here on Creative Bug on the Loose with our first ever Treasure Hunt and provided clues throughout the day at each of the DT's blogs.  Unfortunately we didn't get very many people participating.  However, I do know that the handful that did, enjoyed themselves and that made all the work worth it!

Prizes!!!

Everyone who made a guess, automatically will receive the following Hallowe'en word art creation:
So...
Ike
Edwina
Kitty
D~
Sidelle; and
Isobel

...each of you will soon be receiving an email with the above image attached so be sure to keep watch for it.

Now, for anyone who left a comment on each of the DT's Trick or Treat Treasure Hunt blog posts, I am also offering up the following prize...

Now I have gone to each of the posts and sorted through the comments and it looks like...
Ike
Edwina
Kitty
D~; and
Isobel
...will be receiving a paper as well.

And of course, that leaves the grand prize of three images of the winner's choice from the Creative Bug Digitals store.  The word once unscrambled was TREATS.  Hopefully, it wasn't too difficult to figure out!  All the people who entered the correct word were thrown into a magical Halloween bag.  Uh...let me rephrase that, all of their NAMES were thrown into a magical Halloween bag.  Now while I can't show you the bag (since it is magical it won't allow any pictures of it to be taken), I can show you my assistant who chose the winning name.
Meet Spot.  Spot and I have spent many a wonderful Hallowe'en together so he was the perfect choice to assist me in choosing the winner for our Trick or Treat Treasure Hunt.

Drum roll please....BBBbbbrrrrrrrrr pish...

Congratulations

Kitty

Okay now what are the odds that a cat would pick out the name Kitty.  I promise you that there was no cat collaboration involved.  While both these cats do live in the same country, the winning cat lives nowhere near us and couldn't have possibly influenced Spot in any manner.  You have my Promotional Coordinator Pledge.  Unless of course there was a psychic connection....hmmmm.... BUT I can't be held responsible for how someone may psychically communicate with my stuffed animals.  Really, there is only so much that is in my control!  Anyways, moving on...

So Kitty, you need to go to the STORE and choose the names of the three images you want.  To help me out, include the category they live in please.  Then email me by clicking HERE (it is a new address specifically for win related emails for Creative Bug Digitals), with the subject CBD Treasure Hunt Win with your choices and I'll mail you your three images as soon as I can.  Remember, for you other winners, I will be mailing you your goodies so you don't need to do anything but wait for them to arrive.

Thanks to all of you who joined us!  Maybe we'll do another Treasure Hunt in the future!

Okay peeps, that is it for this post.  I'm still conferring with Naomi about which name we will be choosing to represent Naomi's sweet little witch image.  Don't worry, I haven't forgotten and should be able to let you all know soon!

Have a fabulous first week of November and don't forget to join me on Tuesday for the next freebie!  Chow for now!
