Hello!!!!

I am dropping in today to wish all my blogger friends a
Happy Easter!!! Big hugs to all of you!

Today we are having an Easter Party for Michael and a couple of his friends are coming over to celebrate with him. My friend Kelly and I have been busy again decorating and I will be sure to post pics of our projects and the party very soon but I can show you the yummy cupcakes I made with Michael's help...

This year Michael has been chosen as Ambassador for Easter Seals in his school and he is quite proud of it , he gets to make announcements over the PA System and go from class to class to collect money, I was told how much the kids look forward to seeing Michael come and that they have raised more money this year than any other!!!! Michael's teacher had a bake sale to contribute to this cause so I also made cupcakes for this event!

Don't they look YUMMY!!!! Let me tell you they are as I did a taste test, Ok I may have had a couple, they are swiss chocolate!!!!

Here is  the card I made for Michael, I got the image from Pink Cat Studio, isn't it sweet!!!!

Bit by the Bug: Another Bug is Born...Easter Lilies + Other News

Hidey Ho everyone.  It is time for another new release but first up some apologies have to be made.  I made a seriously big mistake last week.  I blame Microsoft.  I've been dealing with the ramifications of Microsoft pulling support for Windows XP which means a complete system upgrade and overhaul.  For the last week I have been up to my elbows in putting my computer system back the way it should be and I'm not done yet.  Everything on my own blog has had to be put on hiatus but I THOUGHT that I could keep things flowing properly over here by getting some work done ahead of time.  Well, I honestly don't know how I mixed up the release dates but I did.  Chirp's Arrival was supposed to go out on April 16th and last week's post should have showcased Team Bugalug with a different image. This of course meant that poor Team Bugaloo was rather confused when they popped by the blog and saw their cards up last Wed. when they thought their posts weren't due until today.  It also meant that one member of Team Bugalug showcased an image that was different from what I showcased here.  Oy vey, what a mess!  So if I threw any of you off, I sincerely apologize.  I also need to apologize big time to my poor team members for all the confusion.  I don't know what else to say other than mea culpa and I hope that you can all forgive such a terrible blunder on my part.  I'd like to say it will never happen again but I've learned that the word 'never' should not be in anyone's vocabulary.

As a result of this confusion I have decided to include last week's new release and Team Bugaloo's cards in this post as both Vicky and Monica will be posting about them today.  When I showcase the second new release, I will link up Judith's post to go directly to the post that she created last week.  Suze is posting today so I'll just link to her blog as usual.  I really am very sorry for all of this.

So, once again I'd like to introduce you all to...
Chirp's Arrival is in the STORE in the Easter section on the Holidays page, and is available for purchase, if you are interested.  Clicking HERE should bring you right to that section.

Isn't he the sweetest thing ever?!  Chirp has just entered this world and boy is he in for a wild ride!  With his full life ahead of him, I wonder what adventures await!  Not only would Chirp be fabulous on an Easter card but he would be perfect for a new baby card too!  He could even work for a birthday card since he too has just been born!  So many fabulous ideas.  What will you create?

Team Bugaloo is up with creations to showcase Naomi's precious new image...
Such a vibrant Easter card by Vicky.  Fabulous colours and layout too.  You can check out the details of this project over on Vicky's blog Crafting Vicky.

Next up is...
Chirp looks right at home and what a fabulous sentiment.  Great papers and beautiful ribbon as well.  You can check out all the details of Monica's card by visiting her blog, TaylorMade 4U.

On to the second new release.  Next up, Naomi has available for you, the versatile image...
Easter Lily is in the STORE in the Easter section on the Holidays page, and is available for purchase, if you are interested.  Clicking HERE should bring you right to that section.

While this image would obviously be great for Easter, it would also be perfect for a sympathy card or any other kind of card where flowers are appropriate.

Team Bugalug made these lovely creations to showcase Easter Lily...
What a great Easter card with lots of pretty embellishments. You can check out all the details of Judith's creation by visiting her blog, Judith's Adorable Creations.  Click HERE for the direct link to this specific card.
Suze has taken an almost monochromatic approach to her card this week.  Check out that background paper and the pretty lace.  You can check out the details of this creation over on her blog, Craftysuze

Naomi has been busy filling in lots of Easter card orders and so has this one to share with us today...

Beautiful inside and out.  Fabulous diecuts, a pretty green butterfly and some flowers make this card stand out. The beautiful verse on the inside says it all.

Now, it is your chance to win a copy of the latest new release...

Once again you have the opportunity to win a copy of Naomi's newest release.  In order to have your name in the running to win a copy of Easter Lily, let me know what your favourite spring flower is?  I'd love to hear your thoughts on the subject.  Leave a comment ON THIS POST by noon on April 22nd, in order to have your chance at winning this image.

Winners will be announced during a special winner announcement post on Wednesday, April 23rd!

But now it is time to announce the winner of the last new release.  I had wanted to know, how you celebrate Easter or Passover in your home?  Do you observe the religious aspects of the occasion or the more secular ones?  Are there any special traditions you try to observe each year? Five people answered and it was nice to see a variety of traditions.  As far as it goes in my own home, since we don't have any kids, I still try to make it special for the hubs and go downstairs in the wee hours of Easter morning and hide all of his chocolates.  We also have a special Easter dinner.  Since we are vegetarian, the meal varies from year to year but there is generally always stuffing and yams as an accompaniment.  This year we are having a stuffed meatless 'turkey' breast that we picked up a Meatless Market when we were visiting family in London, ON, at Christmas time.  We also put together Easter 'baskets' filled with goodies for our two surrogate nieces.

Time to tell you who won a copy of the last new release, Chirp's Arrival...

(randomly chosen at  Mini Web Tool)

Kittty, please contact me by sending an email to:  CBD_winclaims {at} outlook {dot} com (or by clicking HERE to bring the address up in your email program) with the subject heading 'Chirp's Arrival,' to get your copy.  It might take me a few days to get back to you, so I appreciate your patience.

Now some news about what will be happening in May...

Since we had such fun with the first challenge and several of the participants can't wait to play in the next, we've decided to continue along in that vein for awhile and starting the first Wednesday in May, we will begin a monthly challenge. I hope that more of you will have the opportunity to play with us real soon!!!!

For the next couple weeks I am going to be busy trying to get us all set for the start of the challenge so there will be a short winner announcement post for Easter Lily next Wednesday and then I'll be back on May 7th with all the details and rules for how we are going to set up the challenges along with the challenge itself.  But don't worry, I'm sure that Naomi will be popping in over the course of this time period to bring you all some fabulous inspiration.

So on that note, it is time to say 'adieu'.  For all our Jewish friends and readers, Good Pesach! For those of you who celebrate Easter, I wish you all a fabulous Easter Weekend.  In Canada, Good Friday is a national holiday, although it isn't observed officially in Quebec; however, people living in Quebec have Easter Monday off.  Good Friday is also observed in eleven different states in the US and also in Australia, Bermuda, Brazil, the Caribbean, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Finland, Germany, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, the Philippines, Singapore, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and Venezuela. So hopefully, even if you don't celebrate the occasion, you'll be in a country or state where you at least get a long weekend.  Take care everybody and I'll see you next week!

Glitter Galore Napkin Transfer Picture Tutorial

Hello!!!!
Happy Sunday and thanks for visiting my blog today!

Today I am showing you a technique I learned and it has the big WOW factor, you will not believe your eyes when you are done, if you like your cards to sparkle and cause a reaction to the viewer, this is the technique you are going to want to try, it is very easy!!!

Note*... as you all know it is pretty near impossible to capture the beautiful effect glitter has on a project in a photo, the first card  using Martha Stewart's Crystal Course Glitter came out much better than  the second card (in my opinion) using Hologram Embossing Powder but both are beautiful!

So what is this card with???
A NAPKIN!!!!  That's right, a dollar store 3 ply napkin!!!!

So lets get started, here is my finished cards...

The next photo I took directly under the light to help you see the effect of the glitter.

TOOLS NEEDED

Heating Tool, Hologram  Embossing Powder (used here)  OR Crystal Coarse Glitter used on 1st card.
Watermark resist OR VersaMark
Iron and two sheets of paper ( long enough to completely cover card and cling wrap) I used 8 1/2" by 12".

How to make this card!

The napkins you buy will either be 2 Ply or 3 Ply, you will want to separate them so that you  have just the sheet with the image on it.

Take your card base and lay it on  top of one of your 2 sheets of paper and take a piece of  CLING WRAP and cover card completely... Note*  You don't want the cling wrap to extend beyond the 2 sheets of paper  as  you will get melted plastic on your iron, so bigger than your card base but smaller than the 2 sheets.

Lay napkin on top of cling wrap, the cling wrap will act as a glue when heated and transfer your napkin onto your card, magic!

Cover with remaining sheet , you now have a sandwich effect , you will iron for about a minute , it took me a minute and ten sec's with a regular iron set on high, ( I tried other settings and the wrap wouldn't melt or it would take too long)

Cut around card base. (Very easy to cut!)

Add Water Resist or VersaMark generously to card and cover in Hologram Embossing Powder or Crystal Coarse Glitter, shake off and heat with heating tool and watch the magic begin.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and try this technique, you will be amazed and trust me they have much more sparkle in real life.

Have a great day my crafty friends!
