Shadow Box Card/ Happy Graduation using Spellbinders

Hello!!!!

So we just got through a major storm with hurricane 1 strength, 16 thousand people lost electricity and we have 8 to 10 foot snowbanks, what a ride!!! We literally shook in our beds the whole night and all I could do was pray, lol  We lucked out with no damage other than a strip of siding that came off and we never lost electricity!!!
We do have another storm coming tomorrow night , send lots of happy thoughts ok!!!  I soooooo appreciate all the spring cards I have been seeing on your blogs , I am wishing, dreaming, projecting thoughts even that spring will grace us with her presence, if not I will have to start to chant, hehe!

So today I am showing you a card I made for a Graduation, you can never be too far ahead in the card making business right?

Colored Digital Image- Graduated With Great Honor -The Paper Shelter
Doily Cut- My Craft Spot
Leaves- Spellbinders
Lace and Flowers- Wild Orchid Crafts
Graduation Hat- Cricut Cartridge " Wrap it Up"

Isn't he just the cutest!!!! I am in love with his eyes, they look sweet and modest.

Acetate, I love Acetate!!! I made half a box and used my Scalloped Square Spellbinders Die to cut out a window (negative cut), then I cut out 2 scalloped squares, layered behind the image which I also cut out using the Scallop Square die.
I put acetate on the back side of the negative cut then  cut a panel and adhered the image to it, then adhered the box.
I never followed a tutorial and I did find it hard, I will have to find one somewhere, Regardless I am totally satisfied with the way it turned out.
I made the butterflies by stamping a a flower (cause I loved the pattern in it) and then punched it out using Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch.

Have a super fantastic evening my crafty friends!!!!

Challenge Reminder, Winner Announcement and a Mini Challenge, oh my!

Good morning peeps!  It is LISA here!  I hope that you are all doing well on this last Wednesday of March.  It has been quite a month for us around Creative Bug Digital SnapShots as we embark on our very first challenge.  We are so grateful to all 15 people who have requested images up to this point and so far we have 8 cards linked up.  Remember, the challenge doesn't end until March 31st, so there is still time to request an image and play along.  You can find all the details you need in order to enter by clicking HERE and heading over to the original challenge post.

Stamp Set Winner Announcement

On Sunday, I gave you all the chance to get in on the running to win one of two stamp sets offered up by Naomi.  If you missed that post, here's a peek at what two lucky people will be receiving (one stamp set per person, other items in this picture are not part of the prize):

In order to qualify, I asked people to leave a comment answering the following question:   In a year filled with many kinds of celebrations, which is your favourite?.  Naomi and I were thrilled that in the two short days the giveaway was open, twelve people shared their favourite occasions to celebrate with us.  Answers varied from Christmas and birthdays to weddings, anniversaries and births!  There was even a 4th of July thrown in the mix!  Thanks to all of you who took the time to share with us.

It is time now to reveal the names of the two lucky winners...

Sherrie K.
 Kimberly
(randomly chosen at  Mini Web Tool)

Sherrie and Kimberly, please contact Naomi directly by sending an email to her at: jerri255 {at} bellaliant {dot} net, or by clicking HERE to bring up the address in your email program.  Please label the message with the subject heading 'CBD Stamp Set Winner'.  Make sure you include your mailing address in the message so Naomi knows where to send out your prize.  Now, our Naomi is a very busy lady, trying to fill card orders so it might take her a few days to get back to you.  Additionally, the East Coast is about to be hit with another massive storm so it is possible that she might lose her Internet connection.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she won't be blown away!  With all your positive thoughts, we should help keep her grounded.  So, if you don't hear back from her right away, your patience is appreciated.

Mini Challenge

Now on to today's fun where I have something special planned.   Of course, you may curse me for it when you find out what I want you to do.  Below you will find a Creative Bug Digital SnapShots image that has been coloured in digitally.  You just have to let me know what the overall image is.  Of course it isn't going to be all that easy as I have made it into a puzzle that you will need to put together.  Yes, here is where the cursing comes in.  To add another level of difficulty (I know, I'm really being mean today), it is an image that has not been released yet so you won't be able to scroll through the store to match it up to anything.  Bwahahaha!  Sorry, just can't help myself!  The bad part of me is demanding an appearance today.

As you can see, the centre area (outlined in pink) gives you an idea of what the actual image is.  I have even left in a couple pieces for you.  Unfortunately though, those will be your only clues.  I did say it wasn't going to be easy, didn't I? Think of the workout your brain cells will get trying to put it together!  Now some of you may be able to figure it out without printing it out, cutting the pieces out and trying to piece it together; others may need to do just that.  I've sized the jpg to be 8.5 x 9.75 so that anyone who wants to print it out, can easily do so on a regular piece of paper.  However you go about trying to determine the image, good luck!  Once you figure it out, send an email to:  CBD_winclaims {at} outlook {dot} com  (remember to replace the {at} and {dot} with the appropriate symbols) or by clicking HERE to bring up the address in your email program.  Please use, "CBD Puzzle Guess" in the subject line.  Remember, you will need to tell me what you think the overall image is.

Prizes...
Now that the bad part of me has had some fun, the good part of me wants you to know that your efforts will not be in vain.  There will definitely be prizes!  However, the bad part of me is taking control again and won't let the good part of me tell you what the prizes will be.  You'll just have to play along to find out!  Apparently, I'm having a split personality kind of day.  Hopefully, I'll be back in synch shortly.

So, why not take some time to give your brain a workout?!  Remember, when you figure it out, email your guess to the address mentioned above.  Please DO NOT leave your guess in a comment.  You have until Tuesday, April 1st at 6:00 p.m. EDT, to submit your guesses.  Prize information and winners' names will be posted on April 2nd, during our winner announcement post for the entire challenge.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.  You can reach me by email by clicking HERE.

Happy Puzzle Piecing Everyone!
