Challenge #5--Child's Play

 

Well hello there!  Did you miss us?!  Well, we missed you.  The gang is all refreshed from their time off and back to showcase their brilliant designs.  First though, we need to share all the details of the next challenge with you, including one very important change.

You are no longer required to use a Creative Bug Digital SnapShots image in your project.  

We'd love it if you would, and there is extra incentive for doing so but it is no longer a requirement.  If you do enter using a CBD image, you can enter as many times as you would like.  If using another company's image, then you will be limited to three entries.  Additionally, if you use a CBD image, you will receive an extra chance for winning the main prize.

You have lots of options if you'd like to increase your odds of winning.  You can work with this month's designated free image or if you have some past freebies that would work for the theme, you can go ahead and use them.  Of course, you can purchase an image from the Creative Bug Digital SnapShots store for your creation as well.  Click HERE to head to the store's homepage.  Naomi has added three other previously released images to the freebie section that would also work well for this month's theme.  You can find all the free images HERE.

Challenge Details

Once again we will be offering up a new image for free that you can use to enter the challenge if you would like (details on how to get it are below).

The theme for this month is Child's Play.  For many young families, September is a month dedicated to getting their children set for school and getting them back into a routine.  With so much of a focus on children, I thought this month would be a great opportunity to create a project meant for a child (ages 0-18).  Whether you choose to make a back-to-school card, a birthday card, a get well card, a thinking of you card or even a card to let a child in your life know you love them, the specific occasion doesn't matter. Just make sure that the intended recipient is a child and that the design of the card (or whatever creation you are making) is appropriate for their age.  Please let us know the relation the child is to you (your own child, a grandchild, niece, nephew, cousin, child of a friend, etc.) and their age.  You can add this info beside the link up to our challenge if you'd prefer not to include it in the top area of your post.  If you do not include this information somewhere in your post, YOU WILL NOT QUALIFY FOR THE PRIZES.

The challenge will run September 3rd – September 30th.

Winners will be announced in a separate post on October 8th. 

Let me introduce you to this month's designated free image...

Malia Manchester is quite the character.  She has become a rather beloved image of many.  She was originally introduced to readers last fall with the remaining members of the Manchester sock monkey family.  She and the other Manchesters have been popular requests of DT members in challenges that we've sponsored and they've also been popular requests of winners.  Since Malia was presented as a new release, she has never been offered up as freebie so we thought that it was the perfect time for her to come out and play.

Sneak Peek Guesses

Now before we continue, it is time to see whether anyone guessed the Saturday Sneak Peek.  Well, apparently, I stumped you all again this month.  If I didn't know any better myself, I would have thought it to be a flowered mushroom as well, like a couple of you guessed.  Of course my favourite guess was a doll with a bubble butt.  Thanks for the giggle!  Oh well, maybe someone will get it correct next month!

Playmate Pablo has escaped from the store.  He is moving pretty fast with that little cart of his but I'm sure we'll have him back and restrained to his section in no time!  This inquisitive little boy has been wrangled up and is back in the store.  You can find him in the Special Occasions section.   Clicking on the watermark will take you to that page.  Currently this young lad is at the top of the page in the Birthday area.  However, given how wily he is, he might just zoom himself into another section without us knowing it.  Do let us know if he disappears again so we can send out another search party for him, would you?!

With Frogalicious, we have...

You can find Frogalicious in the Fun Critters section of the store.   Clicking on the watermark will take you to that page.  Currently this fun image is at the end of the second row down. 

Hopefully that will help provide you with the inspiration to get your creative juices flowing!  Clicking on the individual bugs will take you to each DT member's blog to check out the details of their projects including who the child is that they made their creations for and how old they are.  Our team members work very hard to inspire you, so please go and see them if you can.

Challenge Rules

Just like in all challenges, there are a few rules to follow:

• As stated earlier, You do not need to use a Creative Bug Digital SnapShots (CBD) image to enter the challenge; however, if you do, you can enter as many cards/projects as you like!
• If you use a Creative Bug image, please add CBD after your name--example: Lisa CBD.  Link up once using your actual blog post and then link a second time using your blog address so that your name will be entered twice into the drawing for the prize.  Please note that you can enter as many times as you would like as long as you are using a CBD image.  Each one must be unique and part of a different post.
• If you choose to enter the challenge using another artist's image you are limited to three entries. If you submit more than three, the additional entries will not be counted in our winner's draw.
• You must follow the theme for the specific challenge.  For this month it is CHILD'S PLAY.  For specific details, please see above.  
• Please be sure to let us know the relation the child is to you (your own child, a grandchild, niece, nephew, cousin, child of a friend, etc.) and their age, somewhere in your post.  If you do not include this information somewhere in your post, YOU WILL NOT QUALIFY FOR THE PRIZES.
• You are allowed to enter a variety of projects as long as they adhere to the theme, i.e., cards, tags, digital design, artwork, mixed media creations, candles, etc.  The ideas are as boundless as your imagination.
• New projects only, no backlinking.
• You are welcome to combine your entry with other challenges.
• Please link your project post to the challenge blog, not your entire blog link (except in the case where you have use a CBD image and are adding a second entry).
• Please include a link back to this blog in your entry post.  If you don't know how to create a link, make sure that you at least include our blog address in your post so that others can find us.
• Email entries will be accepted if you don't have a blog.  Please submit them to: CreativeBugDigis {at} outlook {dot} com (just be sure to replace 'at' and 'dot' with the appropriate symbols).
• The challenge will end at 6:00 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, September 30th. 
• Please, consider turning off word verification. Word verification is time consuming and when you have it on it takes everyone longer to leave a little love and unfortunately our team members do not have the extra time to waste. So please turn off word verification if you want us to leave a comment. We hope that you understand. 
•  We reserve the right to remove any entry that does not meet the concept of the challenge or rules.

 

Prizes!!!

Along with the brand spanking new freebie Malia Manchester, you will get the opportunity to win:

• Five digital images from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for a person chosen in a random draw based on all eligible entrants.
• An additional prize of three images will be presented to a random winner who has used a CBD image in their project.  In theory, that means that if you use a CBD image, you could win a total of eight images!
• A top three will also be chosen (as long as there are a minimum of seven people entering). Each person in the top three will also get to choose an image from the store.
• Additional prizes may be added, you just never know!
