Using Embossing Powder Tutorial

Happy hump day everyone!!

First I want to share a little news with you, as you know Troy owns a Francise "Needs Convenience Store"/Irving Gas Station... I haven't worked outside of home for 7 years but yesterday I made the plunge seeing as I live with the boss he can work around my ailments when needed. It may not seem like a big job but I have a new appreciation for anyone working behind a counter at any gas station because the information they have to retain and the level of multitasking is off the charts!!! I have to say I am totally loving it, then again I always love a good challenge. This is allowing me to get more aquainted with the people in my town which is exactly what I need for my business down the road!!! I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I am showing you a CAS card I made using Black Embossing powder.

I embossed the owl and the scalloped edge of the card, see below for directions on how to emboss.
The stamped sentiment is from  K Andrew Designs
The owl stamp is from Michael's Store - Hero Arts
The arrow stamp is from my stash from long ago , I bought it at the Bi-rite

I punched out the butterflies and inked around all edges of the card with Black Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.

How to use Embossing Powder
(Embossing Powder gives a raised finish.)
-Rub a Fabric Sheet over paper so excess embossing powder will not adhere in areas not inked.
- Stamp your image using Perfect Medium by Ranger, Embossing Ink or Watermark Resist by Ranger
I used Water Resist by Ranger , you can buy it HERE

(Embossing ink can be clear or a variety of colors. It can be purchased in a stamp pad, marking pen or in a sponge applicator bottle. The best results are achieved by using embossing ink as it stays wetter longer than any other type of ink but pigment ink will also work. If you are going to emboss the image on a stamp, use a stamp pad. The markers are used for drawing fine lines or writing messages and the applicator bottles are best used to re-ink a stamp." - Ultimate Rubber Stamp Mall
-Apply your embossing powder over the wet image
-Flick paper lightly to get rid of excess embossing powder.
-Dry using heat tool (See link provided below to learn more)
Voila you have a embossed image!

OMG...Naomi...I made it over here!!! That last bought of tornadoes has had our internet completely wonky, but FINALLY (cross my fingers, toes, eyeballs and legs) will stay connected for a few days!!!
So happy to finally find your blog and SEE your creations for myself. I am however, not on the best speaking terms with blogger at the moment. LOL.

Hugs to you and I really adore your embossed card. The font that looks like zentangle is INCREDIBLE!!
