Shadow Box Card/ Happy Graduation using Spellbinders

Hello!!!!

So we just got through a major storm with hurricane 1 strength, 16 thousand people lost electricity and we have 8 to 10 foot snowbanks, what a ride!!! We literally shook in our beds the whole night and all I could do was pray, lol  We lucked out with no damage other than a strip of siding that came off and we never lost electricity!!!
We do have another storm coming tomorrow night , send lots of happy thoughts ok!!!  I soooooo appreciate all the spring cards I have been seeing on your blogs , I am wishing, dreaming, projecting thoughts even that spring will grace us with her presence, if not I will have to start to chant, hehe!

So today I am showing you a card I made for a Graduation, you can never be too far ahead in the card making business right?

Colored Digital Image- Graduated With Great Honor -The Paper Shelter
Doily Cut- My Craft Spot
Leaves- Spellbinders
Lace and Flowers- Wild Orchid Crafts
Graduation Hat- Cricut Cartridge " Wrap it Up"

Isn't he just the cutest!!!! I am in love with his eyes, they look sweet and modest.

Acetate, I love Acetate!!! I made half a box and used my Scalloped Square Spellbinders Die to cut out a window (negative cut), then I cut out 2 scalloped squares, layered behind the image which I also cut out using the Scallop Square die.
I put acetate on the back side of the negative cut then  cut a panel and adhered the image to it, then adhered the box.
I never followed a tutorial and I did find it hard, I will have to find one somewhere, Regardless I am totally satisfied with the way it turned out.
I made the butterflies by stamping a a flower (cause I loved the pattern in it) and then punched it out using Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch.

Have a super fantastic evening my crafty friends!!!!

Glad you survived the big storm - it was pretty scary, wasn't it! There was so much snow, probably the most we've had all winter, but we've had such mild temps and rain yesterday and today that a lot of the snow is gone already, believe it or not!

We were fortunate not to lose power as well but I did end up with a leak I've never had before - somehow the wind blew snow up into my eaves - we're still not sure how it got in there but the wind was pretty fierce. Here's hoping for no more storms like that!

Really cute card. There are a lot of real, live donkeys in this area, they own Oatman and get fed by tourists.
Sorry to hear about your horrid weather, I don't miss winter at all.

Naomi, this is so pretty. I love that adorable image. He's so cute! That storm sounds horrible. Hurricane anything is horrible. (except maybe a drink) lol So glad you did not loose power. Come on spring!
