Hi!!
I would like to let you all know we made it home, over all the trip was very relaxing and we laughed a lot on the way home, (I will tell you about that in a little bit.)
During the MRI Michael had to have intravenous, they put patches over cream on both of his hands to numb the entry site but as it turned out Michael's veins were too small and they had to put it in his hand up further which really upset him, I watched as they put the " 10 sec medicine" they called it in the IV, Michael went to sleep crying and I managed to hold it together until he was totally out. Phew it is so hard to watch as his little eyes start rolling.
When Michael woke up he had a wild reaction to the medicine, it was heart breaking to watch him flip around , screaming about wanting to go back to the MRI and totally unresponsive to any suggestion, there was no reasoning, he screamed constantly for 20 minutes.
I left the room for a couple of minutes to breathe as I was totally overwhelmed, when I went back I was very calm ... I walked over to Michael as he was kicking his legs , reached down and pulled him into my arms and sat in the rocking chair with him and held him very tight... within 2 Min's he was calming. 15 min later we were able to leave with him. He couldn't walk yet so we rolled him around the hospital for about 45 minutes. He finally ate and Troy bought him webkinz.
Michael started talking about the Webkinz and asking questions so we knew Michael was back.... ACTUALLY he had totally flipped his mood, now he was on top of the world and couldn't stop talking for a minute... LOL It was hilarious and you would know how it did my heart good to see this after what I had just witnessed.
He did this all the way home in the car and Troy would make polite suggestions challenging Michael to see if he could read the rest of the Big Nate Book before he got to the boat, I had tears rolling down my face because if you seen the size of this book, hahahahaha... We just wanted a minute without talking but at the same time we were ecstatic Michael was so happy. I should also mention it is also so unlike Michael to talk so much, it must have still have been the reaction.. I like this version much better....We were told one of us would have to sit back with him and within the first two hours nudge him if he were to fall asleep.... fall asleep!! LOL
So today we are going to relax at home and do absolutely nothing, over all it was a fantastic trip, Michael called it a mini vacation.
I will be back to show you some deals I got!
Michael got two hard cover Big Nate books instead of a toy at ToyZrus I was so proud of his choice... I was also proud that Michael now pays for the items and now he waits for the change, he is so amazing learning so much all the time.
I will take pictures of mine!!!! eeek! Great deals!!!
I will be by to visit you all later or in the morning,
have a fantastic day

wow it is really hard to see your child wake up and be so out of it... you feel so powerless! I'm glad that every thing turned out good afterwards!!! ;)
Well done to Michael. How heart wrenching for you as his parents, it is a killer to see your kids go through pain. Hugs to you all. xxxx

So happy to see you guys home again and that overall it was a good trip. Sorry you had to go through such a heartbreaking experience with Michael's reaction but thankfully everything calmed down after awhile and you got to experience a side of him you never see. So glad you are home and feeling well enough to post a rather long message. Looks like things are better on your end too.
Hugs,
Lisa

Hi Naomi, so glad that you are home after a safe trip which ended up a happy trip where you were able to enjoy a side to Michael that you don't often see too much. I am so sorry that Michael had such a hard time with the medication, but at least that bit is over with now. Good luck to you all and I hope that things continue to look up for you also, so nice to see you back. Hugs, Jen x

Glad you are back safe and sound. Those reactions can be very scary. Hope it never happens again.
Hope the results are good.
Wow! You are so inspiring. I can remember a couple of times when I had a hard time with my oldest son. One was when he had to have a piece of glass cut out of his foot that he had stepped on & the other is when he had his tonsils removed. They are so helpless & it makes us feel helpless too. I have missed you. Much hugs & love~Patti
SO glad your back safe and sound. Poor Michael..I can't imagine what he has been going through and you to! I am thinking of you and hope your days ahead are bright. Take care my friend and get some rest!

Glad everything went well despite the episode at the hospital. It must have been hard on you. Drugs can really alter one's mood.
Take care!
Happy to know that everything went well.
My prayers and love go you to you and Michael,
Have a wonderful day,
