The Summer Bug Brigade Begins

Hello all my lovely new friends.  Today marks the beginning of a new month of freebies and new releases that we are affectionately calling the 'Summer Bug Brigade'.  Naomi has created a couple new bugs and revamped some old ones; so, prepare yourself to bug out over these cute little critters.

First up this month we have....
Angel Bug

With all the hustle and bustle going on between my trying to launch my DT over on the Path of Positivity and Naomi preparing for her very important weekend with the trade show, Michael's birthday AND their Canada Day celebration, we sort of didn't get the freebie into the store in time.  So for now, I will offer it here for you.  Just click it, to bring it up in its own window and then right click and save it in its full resolution size.  As soon as we get it into the store though, I'll be removing it from this post and providing the link for you to go and grab it there.

This image has been removed as it is now
in the store in the freebie section.
It will stay as a freebie until Tuesday, July 16th, 2013 when it will be replaced with the newest freebie.  Click HERE to grab it as a freebie until that time.

Angel Bug made her debut in July of 2012 and has become a popular digi.  If you have previously downloaded her as a freebie, you are going to want to replace her because she has been enlarged and touched up and saved in a better resolution.

Now, while I was skimming through some of Naomi's older posts, I came across a post where Naomi had a contest for naming this particular bug.  Problem is, I couldn't seem to find the post where the winner was chosen.  So, once I finally find out who named this sweetie, and if that person is still following or an active reader, I have a special treat planned for them.  Of course, first I have to find out who it was.

In fact, since we are being nostalgic by revisiting the Bugs, I thought that today I would show you some of the cards that have been created over the last year using this image.

Let's start off with one made by Christina from Flowers, Ribbons and Pearls.  Christina is one of Naomi's very dear friends and was one of the first people to start creating cards using Naomi's digitals.
Angel Bug is so beautifully framed among lovely papers and embellishments.  I just adore those cute little flowers and those really cool swirl diecuts.  If you'd like to check out the post where this card originally came from you can click HERE

Then of course there is the one made by our very own Naomi Edwards back in August of 2012.

Pretty in pink, Angel Bug makes her card debut on Naomi's blog.  I love the cool background paper and those oh so pretty flowers that Naomi recoloured herself to tone down the original hot pink that they were.  Of course Angel Bug is all decked out in pink and white to match.  If you'd like to check out the post where this card originally came from you can click HERE

Last, but certainly not least there is the card that Suze from Craftysuze created to send to Naomi during the card drive I had for her back in May.

Another oh so sweet rendition of Angel Bug.  I really love the bright blue Suze used in her flowers and the complimentary papers, flower and lace.  If you'd like to check out the post where this card originally came from you can click HERE

Okay, now before I go, how about a bug joke to close out...

Q: What kind of bugs live in clocks?
A: Ticks!

It was nice being able to share these lovely creations with all of you.  Sometimes it is nice to just sit and reflect on projects from the past and such wonderful projects they all were.

Now while, Ike came close with her guess that it was a bug, she was a little off in that there are no Christmas trees in site.  Valiant attempt my friend, valiant attempt!

Well that is it for today. Thanks for stopping by everyone!  I look forward to visiting with all of you again on Saturday when I'll be back with a sneak peek of the new release coming out on Thursday, July 11th as the Bug Brigade continues.  Don't forget there is still time to sign up to have a one in five chance of walking away with Naomi's last new release, "Bringing Balloons".  It is hard to believe that not one person has added their name to the linky list.  After all, I know there are a lot of you out there who already have a link to Naomi's blog in your blogroll and that was the only criteria for entering.  There is still a little over a week left and I hope that at least one person signs up.  Keep in mind that if only one person adds their name and has a link, they will most definitely walk away with the image.  For more details go HERE.

 Until we meet again,

Bugger !!! I knew which one it was but I guess my answer was too cryptic about the bug on the Chrimbo tree and I should have just gone ahead and named her :-(
