Story Book Card / Michael's Surgery Date

Happy Monday!!

I hope you all had fun over the weekend or relaxed as I did which is equally fabulous when needed.

To all you my amazing supporters
 Michael's surgery date is
SEPT 20th, 2013

As you remember  and for those who are new to my blog my son Michael had an MRI done on his back in the early spring ... it showed good results and you shared my excitement in knowing he wouldn't have to have major surgery on his back .. we waited a long 9 months to get Michael in for this MRI because he needed to be sedated... Michael has Autism therefore staying still and the loud noise of the MRI would be far too much for him...for those of you who are new Michael still needs to have both Achilles tendons lengthened on both feet..

Last year there was a card call for Michael and the results were amazing , we were aiming for 30 cards so Michael would receive one everyday within his healing time... we got a whopping 58 cards in total!!!!!  THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!!  I can't believe I held off from opening or even peeking at them.I did have a problem with one of them for it was a present and Michael spotted it being brought into the house.. it was from Lisa over at Mermaids Craft... She sent  a beautiful race car card shown in the image below in the back and a big set of dinkies and another good sized car... we were blown away as you could imagine!!! I wish I had pictures , so sorry Lisa, it all happened so quick!!

Here are 58 cards from all of YOU!!!!

I couldn't spread them out enough to see all the names , I need a bigger desk...(on my list of things to buy, hehe)

Here are a load of homemade cards made by Girl Guides, The Terrifically Talented Theresa and her Mom /my best friend Kelly shared Michael's Story with the girls and how sweet of them all want to make a card !! It does my heart good to see the younger generation show empathy and love.

Also I want to show you a card I made for Troy's parents
51st Anniversary!!
I have heard their amazing story over the years so I thought I would make a Story Book Card...
(Now I dont' know if there is such thing out there as Story Book Card but if not , now there is!!)

On the front it reads
"True Stories never have endings"
and on the inside it reads my personal message along with:
"..and they lived happily ever after."

  •  I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Scalloped rectangles and Scalloped Squares to make the book effect
  • The center oval is from Spellbinders "Nestabilities"  "Oval Floral's"
  • The blooms are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the stamps came from Jaded Blossoms

  • I used Silver Stickles and bling around the edges and on each corner... I also added bling to the above center of the stamped floral image on the oval floral center label.

Have a super fantastic day!!!!
(Always keep your chin up, even when it is hard)
